With lockdown now having become our new normal and our mental state becoming more of a concern it’s important to remind ourselves of the small things that can help us kick start our day. Below are a few common tips that just require consistency so that we can keep going.
I have found that on the days that I do exercise I have a far more productive day, I have extra fuel that gets me through the day and that endorphin high can last for quite a while. I know that it’s quite cold in the mornings at the moment so even an afternoon run or some cardio would still get the job done and leave you feeling good. You can also follow @popupgym for regular exercise classes or sign up for classes with @masinge_lawrence for his virtual workouts.
For the coffee lovers, kicking off your day with a cup of coffee is one of the best ways to get that much-needed boost in the morning, in fact it feels like you can get very little done until you have had your first, precious cup. If you are not into coffee, I suggest that you explore immune boosting teas and drinks. A combination of lemon, ginger and honey is one of the most common concoctions.
I have found that having a good breakfast tends to carry me through the day. Sometimes we get caught up during the day with meetings, deadlines and lose track of time, so by having a good breakfast, you are setting yourself up for success.
Staying connected is critical for our mental health, especially in the era of physical distancing and quarantine. Whether you choose to pray, meditate or keep a gratitude journal, it’s important to be consistent so that you can reap the benefits of a clear and focused mind-set. - To-do list
Plan your day by keeping a to-do list, it helps you stay on top of all the things that you need to get done and track how productive you are. I know that some days are easier than others but it’s important to push yourself.
We are living in an unprecedented time, it can get really hard sometimes but we want everyone to make it to the other side, so please take care of yourselves.
